Previously owned a 2004 4Runner limited v8 4WD which I let go of for a New Bronco I purchased 2 months ago . Payed 55k for a Bronco Badlands edition. This thing was a massive disappointment. Firstly, even without the mechanical problems the build quality is truly terrible. Interior and roof panels rattle like crazy., (my wife’s Tesla has better build quality and that should say something) Transmission Started slipping at 2k miles, fuel economy from the 2.3 4 cyl is around 17 mpg, barely better than my old v8 4Runner. Interior is so noisy that I can’t have a Bluetooth conversation. Again I truly can’t believe how an automaker can reveal such a poorly finished product. My wife owns a Tesla which is far from perfect but I swear her car seems better made than the bronco. Anyways, I sold the bronco and looking to get a 5th gen 4Runner. Anyway beware of the hype the bronco truly is one of the most poorly assembled new cars.

My wife rented me a Bronco, I'll echo your opinion and I certainly won't be trading the 4Runner in for one. I will say it sure is cool looking, but that's where the positives in my opinion, end.

    Welcome back to Toyota land!

I was raised in a Ford household and share your disappointments with Ford products. My last Ford was an 87’ GT Mustang which started falling apart with 50k on the odometer. Customer support was next to nothing too.

In the mid 90’s I bought my first Toyota and have never looked back. :)

Sorry you had to go through all that trouble. I was pumped about the Bronco, and had one on order most of 2021. The wonky hard top and emerging mechanical troubles woke me up, I cancelled the order and bought a new ORP. No looking back. We also have an ‘02 Sequoia and an ‘05 4R both with over 200k.

I have owned a few of the old school big Broncos. It is unsettling to learn how bad the new ones are made. Couldn't be happier after moving to Toyota though.

I had a day 2 reservation. When the only “hard top” available was the mic top I cancelled and, in December of ‘20, got my ‘21 SR5P. So grateful I didn’t decide to wait. The Bronco hasn’t turned out anything like the projections.

World class build quality is why I chose the Toyota 4Runner. Have you driven a 200 series Land Cruiser? You'll fall in love. Barring that, buy a new 4Runner. Amazing quality.

I suppose I got lucky. I had a Bronco on order for nearly two years. I dropped the hard top and trailer package off my order to expedite delivery and finally took possession of a Badlands a few weeks ago. On the way home from the dealership !! an element of the 4WD disengaged and I was warned to “service immediately” and not drive over 20 mph. They got that fixed, but I found the vehicle was too big, too unwieldy, and too noisy with the soft top. It was alarming. I decided to use it through the winter then trade it in if I was still dissatisfied in the spring. Then at 248 odometer miles it wouldn’t start. Multiple warning codes the dealership couldn’t even figure out.
How I got lucky was the dealership returned my purchase price and there was a 4Runner coming in next month that I was able to buy. I’m very stoked for this new vehicle, and very grateful for the solid customer service at my dealership.

Yeah people tell me that I should’ve got the electric mustang for my wife instead of Tesla because if it’s “superior build quality” . While Tesla is far from perfect quality , from my experience my wife’s Tesla had less problems than the POS bronco. Also

    Ford, “Superior Build Quality”?

    That’s an oxymoron. ;)

Another old school Ford guy here who was super excited about the new Bronco. But, I bought three new Ford vehicles for my work commute over 5 years and all of them had transmission issues and other minor issues. These were a Ford Mustang, Fusion, and Mercury Milan.

Moved to the Northwest and traded in the Fusion for a new Ram 1500 4x4 Tradesman and didn't have a single issue in the 4 years I owned it. Weird, I know. Traded it in on the 4Runner and of course no issues in the last 4 years, either.

When I was at the Toyota dealer a month ago looking to trade the 4Runner in on a new Taco, they had a loaded Bronco Badlands edition with the Sasquatch package. Looked awesome from a distance, but when you actually got in it and looked at, it was obviously very cheap build quality.

The salesman said it's been there for 2 months and they can't sell it. Price is reduced down to $59k. Ford dealer across the street actually had half a dozen of them sitting on the lot for sale.

People are waking up to just how awful the new Bronco is.

It's sad that thousands of previous Bronco owners have been waiting for Ford to step up to the plate with this vehicle, and this is what they get for their patience.

Not all. I have no interest in more electronics and a turbo-charged 4 cylinder engine. And I didn't have to wait decades for Toyota to bring back the 4Runner, only for it to be a dog.

I get why some people are concerned about reliability. But, there's no reason to expect the 6th gen to be less capable.

Toyota already has a crossover in this size class. Rather than compete with themselves, it would make more sense to try to get some sales back from folks who are jumping ship for the Bronco.

Just a heads up; You might want to try rewording the rest of your post before the wrong person reads it and you get a vacation from this forum.

Welcome back to the family, @124runner !

The build quality of the new Bronco seems to have been a colossal failure all around. It sucks that you had to find out the hard way!
