Hi, my 2001 4Runner ( the Beast) is down for the count! My son has been working on it, trying several things. Problem is that it starts and runs, but when I give it gas, it "falls on its face". He has changed the fuel filter, throttle position sensor, then dropped the gas tank and replaced fuel pump, still did not fix the problem. He’s thinking throttle body might have to be next, but hesitates for me to spend so much without knowing for sure. I’m just trying to help him figure this out. I don't know if this is relevant, but for a few months previous, when I shut it off after driving a while, I would hear a "frog" sound coming from the gas cap area, which would stop when I loosened it and retightened. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :help:

Sounds like you'll need a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel regulator is bad.

I don't think the Throttle Body is going to be the issue. It might cause driveability issues but not a full "falls on its face" when giving gas.
