Long time lurker

Hey there...title says it all. I'm in MI and recently on my 2nd 4R. First one was an 08 SR5. It's Friday so here's the front end.

 

This pic was actually after an accident on the freeway @70mph. The plastic bumper on the passenger side was pulled out and the fender had a slight bend but man that thing was tough! The other car was not so lucky, it had to be towed away

 

Although the damage was minor, I seen this as an opportunity for an UPGRADE! When you are driving the mean streets of motown on a weekly basis, a little extra steel is a perfect addition. So I dialed up ShrockWorks based out of Texas.

 

You have to understand, @ShrockWorks everything is made to order so dont expect 2 day delivery. But is it worth the wait? Hell YES!. You have to remember, made to order. .25 steel is cut, wielded and powdered coated with exact tolerances. The results speak for them self.

 

What about shipping you ask? This is only my opinion, Im sure there are other fabricators that are fantastic.... I sprung for the light package and was very happy. I added baja fog lights too. This forum was instrumental with the wiring. Thanks to those of you that posted.

 

The 08 was a solid vehicle that never failed me and never left me stranded. I bought it as a rental with 20k miles and put 190K over the time I had it. Only changing out the original battery, rotors, brakes and calipers within its last few years. The roof where the windshield meets started to leak and I sheered off one the sway bar bolts in the frame. By the time I was ready to trade it in, the trans was going, the muffler was broke and zip tied but, it started every time and if you gave it gas.....it wanted to eat!

 

I should also mention that I took very good care of this vehicle. Garage kept, synthetic oil every 5K, tire rotated every 10K. WeatherTech throughout the day after I bought it.

 

Almost forgot, I did have the local folks put on some on some front end spacers to level it out. I wanted a subtle lift and that was perfect for me. Now Im looking for the same in my new 2021 off-road.

Thanks all! I never did get the full opportunity to use the bumper, but I did have a can of black spray paint loaded up just in case I need to do some touch ups

 

Here's the new toy 2021 TRDO. Weathertech rain guards/bug guard and 20% tint on the driver and passenger windows. Huge difference from my 08.
