2026 Lexus LC500 Only Come with a V8. Nobody should be surprised that there was no demand for LC500h. Hopefully, Toyota gets the message and starts offering 6th Gen 4Runner with V6 or V8.

According to the article, the defender 90 base price doubled as a result of not having a 4banger option and only the supercharged v8.

Would you like toyota to put a supercharged v8 in the new 4runner as the only option, but double the base price?

Yes please for Limited, but I see your point. Also, I think lightly updated 1GR-FE vs. current hybrid setup will be a wash, not doubling.

Yeah, I think v6 and v8 options could be done for less too. I was surprised to see that in the article.

I hate supercharged v8s in SUVs. I like the hemi in my JGC but feel like jeep wasted money developing the track hawk and totally lost their offroad roots with the JGC to the point of no return

I have seen someone on the track with JGC Trackhawk and it was performing surprisingly well. I don't expect to see one on a forest trail.

Personally, I don't have a problem with that, but then offroading is not my thing. Yet, I don't think something like that should be done to 4Runner.

What do you think about Jeep releasing V8 Wrangler?

If I ruled the world, the 4Runner would keep the good ol' 1GR-FE but have a six speed automatic with an adaptive shift map (no PWR button) and 4.30 axle gears. V8s are nice but add front-end weight, crowd the engine bay and are more expensive in every way.

Agreed, keep same engine, but swap out the transmission with something beefier and more gears. That alone will translate into better acceleration all around and better mpg's when cruising. All these hybrids and turbos are not necessary, keep things simple.

I think the v8 wrangler they released is gimmicky and they missed an opportunity to do it right.

The 5.7 has a crazy amount of power but it feels safe in the fully independent suspension, unibody JGC. I can't imagine what the 6.4 feels like with a lift, solids axles, and 35's on a BOF SUV.

I'd argue its overkill. A smaller v8, with some low end torque for the large tires everyone puts on, that doesn't try to kill you everytime you accelerate and stop quickly would probably sell better

Not to mention the 392 is a Wrangler with an MSRP exceeding that of a top-trim GX with options and a base Grenadier.
