Took some ideas from this and other forums, made a level platform for hunting and scouting trips.

I used 3/4” ply and 2x4’s on the flat. Seems most others used 1/2”, per my measurements 3/4 was better and I like the added strength for less sag.

Also put in the canvas back cargo liner-can’t say enough good things! Sized perfect, heavy duty and easy clean.

I should have taken a photo prior to platform, the cargo liner fits perfect on a stock cargo area. The photo above is where it fell once I put the platform in. I squeezed out max length and width so that's why it seems short now. I was able to bring it back to the rear edge, as that's where most dust and dirt would land on the carpet. Being velcro its nice to be able to move it as needed. I will most likely leave the level platform in, not losing much space and then I have to store it in the garage....

Looks good. I did the same with some scrap wood I had laying around, but I split mine into two sections. I have been banished to the tent while my mom (in her late 60's) has taken over the 4Runner when we go on a camping/fishing trips. She made a one piece velcro cover like yours for camping purposes only.
