2 fawn, 3 doe, and a MONSTER buck were seen at the farm, 7am today!! Going to renew my licenses, over a hundred dollars. Then putting my stand back up in a couple weeks. I don’t leave anything in the woods, the straps rot, #1 cause of hunting accidents are falls.....

And I’ve have been enrolled in the Harvest Information Program ever since it started. It’s for migratory game birds. I have a huge farm specifically for Morning Dove...

Now there is 7 deer visiting the field every morning.....It’s gonna be tough, it’s all luck, I’m gonna focus on just one biggun this season...put him in the front seat with the seatbelt on.:)

It is “earn-a-buck” here. Which means I have to harvest a doe before I can get my second buck, and a second doe before my third buck. I usually take the first deer I see. It’s so hard to get them to walk by in bow range....

Well in my area you can buy as many doe tags as you want. 4 at a time. And I got a set last year when I bagged my three doe, so they are good until November gonna use those first..

Not here. Anybody can get a general buck tag which is west of the Cascade range. Anything east of the Cascades for rifle hunting is a draw tag. All doe tags are also draw tags.

I’m sitting here with an ice pack on my head and the AC on 65. I took an Advil. Because I got heatstroke today putting up my stand and have a major headache. If it was easy everyone would do it....

One buck is all we get here. And 67 does. ...

We own two farms on opposite sides of the county. One 30 acre farm, and one that is 19 acres (that we live on), They both have fabulous deer. Some TV deer hunting show owns that adjoining land to our 30acre farm. They bought it about 15 years ago and film lots if hunts for TV. Whatever they’re doing over there has caused the buck size to explode. I don’t know if they have certain crops OR if they brought in bucks with killer genes. The deer went from 120-130 averages to 160-170’s. About 5 years ago one was taken over 220” and 34 points. It made it in the record book.

Years ago when I was a young man, the 90’s, me and my buddies use to hunt the forest where we camped all weekend with the old timers. They would tell us stories how there weren’t hardly any deer at all in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. They said they’d hunt fir weeks and nkt even see a deer. They were just over hunted. I started deer hunting in 1985 and I can remember sitting in the tree for years without ever seeing a buck. I took my first one in I think 1988 or 89. Was tough hunting in those days. My state now regulates deer hunting heavily and the one buck rule is there to make them bigger. Way too many bucks running around here now. They need to do two bucks now.

My youngest son and I signed up for several special hunts this year on the military bases and state parks so hopefully we get drawn to earn some extra bucks. He’s still trying for his first one. He just got to the size he can actually shoot a 20ga (barely). He’s getting his first AR-15 for Christmas.
He’s got a doe under his belt already tho.

My grandpa/dad hunted Pa. They first started Fish and Game in 1913. First they were canvas then metal, later paper. You wore them on your back.086D0D8C-AAF0-472F-AEED-DE8A429E27A6.jpg

Been seeing a shit ton turkeys here lately. My youngest son is wanting to go this season. He finally is big enough to handle a 20ga so I’m taking him in October for the fall hunt.

He got his first doe last year and missed a 16 pointer opening day. Youth deer season is next weekend and we’ll be in stand before daylight on Saturday. We’ve been watching two monsters that are running on our farm. Hope he gets one.
He also got drawn for a special hunt on a wildlife sanctuary where he can harvest two additional bucks. He’s pretty excited! He’s dying to have his own mount on the wall.

But I can use only two in the fall. The season comes in and out multiple times. I have to be on top of it. I had a huge bear walk right up around me and I wasn’t sure the season was in so I let him walk. And it was in!!!!

Also, I’ve found 98% of hunters are a$$holes! I’m surprised you don’t hunt DGP?
