I have a connection at a car dealership who can get me tires for cash, half the price of new tire. So I feel confident I can get a good price on tires large like 38-40 inches . How much of the fender do you need to carve out to fit like a 40 inch tire?

You're going to have to butcher the shit out of it to fit 40's. 35's are even a struggle if you really want them to clear. Plus, you'll want to regear, and probably have issues with the steering rack with tires that big.

I'd highly recommend against anything that big, unless it will be a dedicated wheeling right.

I can see your point regarding the handling and steering however I have extensive experience and am confident I can overcome things like that quite easily just by relying on experience driving

What are you doing with your car? If you want to use all of the travel available for the shocks serious cutting, tubbing, hammering and relocating is required. Check out my build thread to see what it took for me to flex 38's

Experience isn't going to change the physics involved with running tires that large and heavy.

For this use case, I wouldn't go any bigger than a 285/70/17 and stick to an SL load range. Why would you butcher your fenders just to fit tires you have no need for?

Because it would make me look cool, bruh.

OP fails to mention his deleted thread where he talks about how awesome the body is, but he's poking holes through his rusted frame with a screwdriver.

Priorities man. Fix the frame before you try to slap 40's on a rust bucket with a big, beautiful body.

You definitely have confidence, I'll give you that, but the more I see you post the more I get the feeling that confidence is misplaced

Man, the troll game this guy has is pretty impressive. Ya’ll keep falling for it.

Next he’ll ask about a 6 inch BODY lift and/or a super charger to add to the engine.

I'd also be shocked a car dealership regularly sees ANY tires in those sizes. Maybe a Jeep dealership but 37's is typically the max they deal with too.

Ya you would think that for sure but this guy buys tires in for me and all his buddies he orders them thru the dealer (the owner owns a bunch of dealerships) and we just pay the guy cash like half price off wholesale

Sounds shady. If so, earn it instead bro! There were points in my life that I pulled the trigger on "fell-off-the-truck" deals. Totally regret that chapter and I have made amends where possible. I subscribe to the non-aggression principle now. My eternal soul is worth more than a few dollars, even if the mark is just some rich dude.

Many years ago I worked with a redneck chick that had 44” mudders on a first generation Tacoma . Now that I think about it it was a pre Tacoma truck .
Mid 80’s or so . Looked ridiculous.
