Thought this was interesting. Lot more people buying them now that Toyota announced they're being discontinued.

I'd consider one myself if I had that kind of money to spend on a vehicle that would be only one of the vehicles in my household. But it's kinda hard to justify when a 4Runner is almost as capable (less towing capacity) -- and close in durability and reliability -- for half the price. Plus, people often think about the LC as being huge, and compare it to the Sequoia. But actually the 4R has a lot more cargo room.

Anyway, it's the end of a remarkable era. Few cars have as much heritage and shown as much excellence as the LC. The only one that even comes to mind in that regard is the 911.

I keep my eye on the used market because I want one also. Prices seem to stay crazy high throughout all model years.

yeah, used prices for the most part, have remained high...great for sellers, bad for buyers...eventually, prices will spiral down..as for getting ' your' vehicle...depends on your budget, what kind of shape the vehicle is in, etc...good luck & happy hunting

Prior to covid, there were always 200 series Cruisers for sale on Craigslist where I live. I rarely see them now.
I wonder if Lexus will discontinue the LX570?

I'm sure that these will depreciate at a very slow rate, especially now that they've been discontinued. Certainly a smart car purchase, if one has the funds available..

Scarcity is one of the classic techniques of persuasion. "Get one while they last." "When they're gone, they're gone."

Exactly. I'll probably never get rid of my 4Runner but I would love an FJ Cruiser just to play around with. but I have one teen driver in the family , about to be two....insufficient funds.

My neighbor across the street has an older one (not sure of the year), and I've already told her if she wants to sell it, to let me know.

Settled for a tundra. Land cruisers are just too far out of my league. I’m happy with the new ride. 0358B01D-29C3-42C5-802C-03551DC6990E.jpg

I was looking at one too but like most say price is absolutely ridiculous. So I settled for a GX 460 and got the wife a 4runner. Both for less than a LC200 haha

I got a 2019 Tundra platinum for the same price as a 2013 land cruiser. That’s insane!

It's crazy. I will get more than half of what I paid new for my 2010 FJ with 157,000 miles on it, as a trade-in for a 2021 4Runner/ORP next month.

Look at this ad for a 2014 FJ near me. Last year sold in the USA with only 32,000 miles !!! Very tempting, until you look at the asking price of $39,000. LOL For $1,000.00 more I will get a new 2021 4R/ORP with a sunroof discounted. But, if you just have to have an FJ.....

Rumor is next gen Land Cruiser will move to more dedicated offroad vehicle status and less soccer-mom. And it will be based on the new TNGA-F platform on the new Tundra.

Also of note, the new TNGA-F platform cannot use V8s. Not sure why. So look for the new Land Cruiser to have a turbocharged V6 or regular V6.

I so hope that the LC returns to a true off road vehicle. I've seen some youtubers say that its a mistake because it appeals to stealth wealth.

I see it as sell 3000 $80000 land cruisers at a total sale of $240,000,000 or sell at least 6857 $35,000 land cruisers to make the same amount of money. If Toyota made the Land Cruiser more like a jeep or the FJ Cruiser they could easily sell more than 7,000 vehicles and make more money than the 200 series ever did. It doesn't make sense to have a Toyota badged Lexus competing against Lexus.

Assuming that the Land Cruiser returns to the US as more of an FJ Cruiser, I am glad to see the current generation Land Cruiser go. It was the aspirational Toyota that everyone forgot about after realizing they got priced out of ever owning one. I do hope they keep the LC longevity if they design a replacement for the US.

prices vary..I've seen 3rd gens go as little as $800.00 and a near mint, tricked out for 18 k.....I've been offered around 7k for my '97 Limited..same thing with the FJ's...even ones with high mileage, are fetching top dollar...Before I bought my '97, I look at a slew of FJ's...almost pulled the trigger on a 2010...but got a good deal on the '97...would I like a FJ ? SURE...is one in my future ?probably not...but who knows....The Lexus version of Land cruisers, especially the mid 90's, are widely sought after as well...
