Idk if the search is different here than on TW or there's just less content but I can't find anything.

Does anyone with an SR5 or SR5P just run the stock wheels with their suspension/tire changes? I have the gray Pros on my silver taco but I dont like the look of the gray under MGM, and I know everyone seems to want to black everything but I hate black wheels. I can't be the only one that doesnt mind the snowflakes, right?

Edit: I have a new 4R on the way. My taco is Silver on Gray, the 4R is MGM and I dont like the gray or black. Looking for anyone that kept their SR5 wheels but modded elsewhere

There are certainly people that keep those on.
They can probably be found pretty cheap. I sold mine with the stock tires for $500.
    Check FB marketplace and CL

Sorry if I wasnt clear, I'm moving to a '23 SR5P in MGM. Looking for any mods and it seems everyone goes black wheels, was wondering if anyone in a similar 4R kept the stock wheels but updated tires or suspension

Yes, many people lift and do tires while keeping the SR5 wheels. I believe they are a 7" wide wheel so you could run into issues with a larger and wider tire that might require a wider wheel.
There are many on here that will say it is fine though.

Thanks. I'll probably stay stock-sized tire, just go to an AT. If I go any bigger I'd stay with 255s so not concerned with width. Just havent seen many people keeping them. Maybe they just arent the posting type

No idea about MGM SR5, but this is how my White SR5 look with ReadyLift spacer kit 3in front lift and 2in rear lift.

Here is my Nautical Blue Metallic lifted 2.5"/1.5" on 285's with the stock wheels. I've since moved on to black TRD Pro wheels.

I always thought its better to have low front than back because of aerodynamics. Especially sport cars. Wind Drag

Not sure about aerodynamics effect. But I support to keep little front rake for better visibility offroad and especially for the newer ones with Toyota safety sense.
I didn't meant to advice to go with the same lift. Just wanted to share the look of my SR5 with stock wheels and lift.

Add me to that club too! Shiny aluminum wheels please.

For me personally, making the rims shine and tires shiny black are the icing on the cake of a Saturday afternoon car wash.

I like black wheels but I'm also in the seemingly small camp who thinks the SR5 snowflakes are cool.

There are a couple members that have had their "snowflakes" painted or powder coated and they look pretty good!

I was a big fan of my gray Pro wheels on my silver taco. There was a contrast, but could still see the detail of the wheels. I've looked at a 1000 pics of MGM Toyotas and to my eye its too similar to the wheel. I'm looking forward to some gleaming rims once in a while again!

I’m 57. I would be curious to know the average age of the snowflake rim fans versus the other wheels. Maybe it’s not an age thing. Just pure speculation.

I personally think silver stock wheels is a nice contrast to MGM. I see SR5 4Runner stock wheels and tires all the time for $450 at my local dealer.

I personally like the SR5 stock wheels and ORD wheels. I am in my 40s also.

I just feel like black wheels will be a fad and not super popular in 8-10 years. Obviously just my opinion. I want to keep my 4R 20 plus years so staying with a more classic look is what I preferred.

But obviously we all have our own preferences.

If I had an SR5 I would most likely stay with the stock wheels; the only wheels I would consider replacing them with are the oem Off Road wheels. I really like how the silver and black Off Road wheels complement an MGM 4R.

Whoa, now. The only thing I like less than black wheels is tire shine. That stuff is a mess.

I’m a old fart but I like my black Pro rims. Maybe I’m re-living my youth. But as stated, they will be retro someday. Nothing wrong with the snowflake rims, they are retro too.

The old greasy liquid Armor All was definitely a mess. Nowadays I just buy the foam spray. (And wipe any residue off my shiny wheel of course. )

Separate note not to high Jack thread. Try Meguiars tire gel and apply with a rag. That stuff does not fly all over the place and lasts through several rains unlike other products.
