Well this is exiting. Looks like a N/A engine with no BS turbo / hybrid / cylinder deactivation. Maybe I have some hope to buy a new car. Need to see in person. Looks (F)ugly on the video

Hopefully if it comes to the US they don’t change the drivetrain to some over complicated turbo/hybrid nonsense.

The Xterra is supposed to be coming back in a couple years. Hopefully it’s a winner. I’ll take an SUV version of the current Frontier.

    Nissan Cube = 99.6" wheelbase
    Jeep Renegade = 101.2" wheelbase
    Toyota LC250 FJ = 101.6" wheelbase

Its like the Nissan Cube and the Jeep Renegade had a baby, then someone put Toyota emblems and a plastic version of the 70 series front cap on it.

I had a Renegade for a vacation rental once and drove it from Atlanta to Key West and back. I liked it. That size would be perfect for commuting and around town needs.
The hood on the LC FJ seems a bit too long compared to the others. There’s probably not much space behind the rear seats.

I agree, very similar on a lot of dimensions
In other parts of the world these smaller vehicles are "huge" and a luxury item
What we call "mini trucks" in certain parts of the world are just "trucks" and are used for everything.

If you can get over the lack of luxury, small vehicles are great commuters. I absolutely love my 1989-1995 Toyota pickups. I have had probably 10 of them in my life, all regular cab manual shift. I have a 1993 regular cab 2wd and love driving it. They are simple, easy, fit anywhere and sip fuel. Its so easy to park in parking spaces and get in tight spots other cars cant. I actually really like driving that old thing. Its easy to get caught up in the rat race and get spoiled by creature comforts though and want the newest latest and greatest stuff. These smaller vehicles typically are budget minded and rarely have all the bells and whistles. If you can get past that, yes a small commuter is a great vehicle to have.

The Jimny XL looks pretty nice too. Another great vehicle we won’t see in the US.

I’m blaming the daylight savings time change. I lost a whole day instead of an hour change. :D

Dude! the jet lag with these changes is real. And this one makes me wake up a few minutes before my alarm in the morning, which is really annoying.

Powered by Toyota’s High-Output, Turbocharged Four-Cylinder Hybrid powertrain, the Scion 01 Concept combines thrilling performance with exceptional efficiency. The hybrid engine is derived from Toyota’s truck lineup and delivers over 300 horsepower while also offering a groundbreaking Silent Mode, which allows you to use EV power to glide through trails in serenity, fully immersed in nature’s beauty.

    AWWW CHIT it gets better

With exceptional suspension articulation, balanced track width, and a nimble footprint for tight trails, the Scion 01 Concept aims to surpass current SXS products in power, capability, and range.
In a nod to Toyota’s commitment to safety and durability, the concept also incorporates a first-of-its-kind FIA-compliant cage, developed directly by Toyota and compatible with SCORE and FIA racing standards. Complementing this race-ready structure, the concept leverages proven Toyota driveline, suspension, and brake components—strategically selected for reliability in extreme conditions.

If they can build a 4800 pound Tacoma with remote start, keyless entry, electric windows, a full stereo, completely enclosed body, a full interior, run thru countless years of R&D and go thru NTSB safety studies to get approved for highway use as well as CARB studies and EPA compliance and build a Tacoma for $40,000 and the "fancy" units for $52,000 then they should be able to build this 3000 pound golf cart on steroids that doesnt have electric windows, airbags, or AC that doesnt have to be traffic safety approved and borrows the Tacoma engine for likely WAY less than what the Tacoma costs to produce. This thing may hit the market for $30k with a warranty. It carries the dead Scion lineup name. I suspect they are being careful and divorced this vehicle away from the parent company [Toyota] for liability reasons. It wasnt that long ago Yamaha nearly lost their ass in the Rhino lawsuits. This scion branding may be a way to ensure if something happens, Toyota is not on the hook.
