I regret selling this one. I won't do that to my 4Runner until the electronics sh!t the bed and I grow tired of fixing it...

 

^Yes the first thing in the 5th gen that would need deletion for drifting is the electronic brake booster (replaced with a vacuum booster).

 

Does okay if you disable tcs/scs by holding the traction control button for a few seconds xD

People have approached me for the 4Runner (bought new, one owner since) and for the old Pickup. Sadly, anyone who approaches or leaves a note thinks you're just as stupid as they are. A guy approached me in the supermarket parking lot offering a trade plus cash (ooh, cash) for the 4Runner. His trade? A 2011 BMW 128i convertible. Tempting, but nuh-uh.

 

On a related note (no pun), I did leave a note on somebody's 4th gen Civic sedan wanting to buy it (2007-2008?) as it was unmodified in the exact color I wanted; I had assumed it was someone older who may have been the original owner as the car was very clean! I never heard back from it, but was willing to pay KBB.

 

KBB values are wildly underestimating what good condition older cars go for now a days.

My older Ford sedan is only worth about 2k according to KBB, I wouldn't sell it even if someone offered me 4 times that because I can't replace it with anything remotely comparable for even that "inflated" price. A clean older car usually means someone has not been using it as a commuter so they are not pressed for money to entertain KBB value offers.

 

I do not, but I do quite often get people who want to either buy my 2.5RS, or beg me to sell the 5x100 BBS Gold's.

 

I finally pulled the trigger and got an appraisal and collector car insurance for the '94 Pickup last January. Much cheaper than normal insurance and I can get compensated for its comparable value. Plus, I have something to show the fellas who offer me $4,000 "cash, right here, right now, to take it off" my hands.

 

Those guys either have no clue what it is actually worth, or hope that you do not know, lol.

 

Should def make the American version of a 22B with that thing. Or more accurately an RSTi

Nice! Had an EJ257 in my 08 Hatchback. Cracked a ringland at 22 psi. Rebuilt with forged internals and upgraded the fuel system with a bigger pump and injectors along with a bunch of other mods. Made about 350 lb ft of torque on a Dynojet. I miss that old thing sometimes. Sure was fun... And did way better AWD donuts than the 4Runner is capable of

Two things can be true at the same time, that he has a base trim 4R, and that there are car flippers out there putting spam notes under people's wipers. There is a decent market for used 4Rs with high miles that still fetch decent money, doesn't cost the flippers anything but if one owner bites it can be an easy multi-4- figure pay day.

 

This makes sense when you realize his handle is "Rick". He's been Rick Rolling us this entire time.

Wicked ride. I also had a GH, but it was written off by some clown going way too fast on an icy highway. I wish they would build a 4Runner that had the traction of a Subbie. My 4Runner on studded winters is nowhere near as good as my Subbie's on all seasons in the snow. Ground clearance is my only limitation, lol.

 

I believe it, I had a 96 outback that was excellent in the snow, but my ultimate snow car was a 79 olds toronado. Great traction and heavy enough to plow through drifts.

No notes on my 4runner, you’d get dirty trying, lol.

I've received a similar note on a Sienna that I used to own. I looked across the parking lot and saw the same note was on a ton of other vehicles too.

 

I see these notes a lot during the spring when the tax refund season in full swing. Newer cars, older cars, cars that look haven't been driven in a while, doesn't matter, the resalers cast a wide net, Toyotas are always a favorite target of these guys.
