Has anyone had an issue with their front intermittent wiper setting not working? About two weeks ago when trying to use it, it was just in the low mode. I tried it the next day and worked fine in intermittent mode. Driving to work this morning in light rain and no intermittent mode just low and fast. I can't seem to find anything online about this issue for a 5th gen.

Probably a defective wiper stalk with worn contacts inside. It is not a common issue with 5th gen. Replacement shouldn't be difficult, if it's anything like the Tacoma stalk:

Yeah it might be that and that part is not cheap. I read about it also possibly being a relay but cant find anything about a relay for the 5th gen. I saw a video about a PCB that needed to be soldered but a relay would be an easier fix if that's what it is.

^At least according to my 2010 wiring diagram, the front wiper and washer relay is built into the wiper switch assembly. I'm not sure how reliable it is to open the switch casing to desolder a relay, and I'm not sure if replacement relay is easily procurable. The plug-in relays sold on Rock Auto are for the rear washer.

I do not see any reason as to why a bad rheostat could cause the same issue on the control on the wiper stalk. Not normal problem but could be what is causing you inter. issue.
Sounds like you have some of my luck with any type of device..
