    Good morning,

Does anyone apply any type of lubrication to the intermediate steering shaft u-joint? Was reading a thread on steering rack replacement and the author coated it in 5w/30 and others in gear oil.

Mine has been getting a shot to wool wax yearly when I do the rest of the truck as I live in the Northeast, but curious if anyone else does? Pros or cons.

    Thank you,
    Matt

Spray fluid film every year to the joint.Woolwax works to. No cons. Will last over 200k.

It's like greasing the driveshaft U-joints: using any kind of lube puts you way ahead of 99% of other 4Runner owners. So Woolwax, FF, Rust Check, Corrosion Free, whatever's available in your area.
