Currently, I am running Tacoma TRD take offs up front, which act as a leveling kit. on the rear i have some new shocks equivalent to the front.
i am in need of some new rear coils, but i have been dragging my feet a little bit, as I do now know what to get, and i am torn. the vehicle sits perfectly level right now and i would be ok with 1 inch in the back, but i think 2 inches would be too high. this summer we will be taking a long road trip and it will be loaded down for long periods of time so i would like to get some new springs on there to handle the weight. does anyone have a recommendation ?

    Whats your budget?

Dobinsons sells like a TON of different height/spring rate coils.

Eibach sells a 1” rear for the 4th gen and their 5th gen 1” would give you approximately 1.25-1.5”. I ran the 4th gen version on my 17 for a number of years.

2' from ICON is what I started with. It was ok and good even when loaded. However, as the 4R got heavier I ended up with Dobinsons. The sky is the limit once you start looking....next thing you know you are doing a whole suspension job.

This might be a silly question but i dont know the answer so ill ask it. i am going to jack up the rear of the vehicle from the hitch, and try to visualize how much lift i want on the vehicle. Should i measure from the top of the tire to the wheel well?
I like how the front sits, i think that the truck is just about level, if anything the rear is a smidge lower as its stock, coils right now on the rear that are pretty well worn out

not too shabby!!. im well aware it says 2010+ (5TH GEN) but these are a direct fit, they just add .025-.05 to a 4th gen because they are lighter!

Iron man makes good coils for less dough too. Good thing is that you can’t see the green unless you go under truck!!

maybe yours were super worn out. that does concern me a little bit getting the coils i ordered because I am assuming i will gain 1-2 inches from where i am at now, but if my stock coils are worn out, i could end up with even more lift than expected. if that happens i guess ill just be adding more in the front, lol

Same. When i put on my Dobinsons IMS my front coils were only for a 1.5" lift but i ended up getting like 2.5" just due to super saggy OEM coils that came off.

did you put the old springs next to the new ones when you took them out? i would think that even if your OEM were worn out, they should be close to the same height as a replacement(with no lift) when they are un installed
