    Hey everyone,

I’ve got a 94 4runner 3.0 v6 auto that has been having some idling issues. I’ve cleaned out the throttle body, put in a new Mass airflow sensor and she’s improved in some other areas but still noticing a rough idle. She kinda stutters when I accelerate too. Any thoughts? She’s close to 200k miles.

Have you tried running a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through it?

Do a simple tune-up. You know cap-rotor, wires and plugs. I would go with OEM parts...

get new OEM plugs, if not fixed, then check and do a new timing belt.... could be an air starvation item also, check the filter and air flow lineage to the engine..

Maybe, if the tune-up doesn't do the trick. Has the fuel filter been replaced?

These types of problems can be difficult to diagnose. Could be a sensor, vacuum leak, ETC.

I hope you get it figured out.

I threw my hands up already with my rough idle. My truck sounds like it's breathing haha. Replaced fuel filter, cap/rotor, plugs, the bird nest in the air filter canister, cleaned throttle body. I think I'm shafted into it being injectors or timing...

Dang all new stuff now.. it’s prob the “computer” / ECU maybe.. heck I would try it at idle with no air filter just to check. You can choke up the idle cable also to higher rpms.. next step I think is one or all injectors .. worth the money. When it’s done and fixed your guts will be all new and replaced.. you could also do a throttle body clean out with some sea foam.. I’ve seen that fix idle problems in one application. You tube sea foam engine clean out.. how’s the smog test? Pass?

    You checked for vacuum leaks?
