This is a new gun bill trying to be passed while the Corona virus is in full effect.
I have no intention of this turning into a political debate. I just want others to be aware of the 2nd ammendment rights that maybe taken or changed with this bill.
    Please watch & stay safe!
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

I saw this a few weeks ago! They've tried before to pass it, I don't see it going anywhere but who knows.

Growing up in the 90’s I’m accustomed to a more thorough background check. And made it through the assault weapons ban. If you ain’t got nothin to hide you shouldn’t be worried. If you buy/sell a lot of guns get a FFL...

This goes way past that. You need a federal license to buy any gun or ammo. You need to renew every 10 yrs with testing.
This also includes a database of ammo & gun purchases.
This isn't the 1994 ban, it is way worse.
@SR5 Limited I think you need to rewatch. No offense.
    Ryan.

What I read was it would impose a 50% tax on all firearms and ammo purchases. There's definitely more to it, but just a way the government would be able to limit what your buying without actually limiting what your buying.

I’m not even gonna watch that. Sorry. So they want you to be a FFL holder pretty much. No big deal..Almost every person I have met with an assault rifle is a dick!!!

No offense but if you didn't watch or read the bill, please don't assume!
Every citizen would have to be a FFL holder to buy ammo!
Your ignorance here may hurt you. Please watch!

That's just lazy, BS reasoning. Nearly as bad as trying to pass something because it's "common sense". Or "if it saves just one life". Or in the name of "safety". But I don't want my reply to escalate into something more political so I'll hold off on further replies, of which there could be a few even this early in a thread.

    Signed,

I didn’t mean to come off so harsh. I just drove the Z28, rode the Harley and the Gixxer. Then cut the grass and weedeated. I’ve been frying too much fish lately...

I was hoping to see some snow last week but no travel, so here I am in 91 degree Florida. Could be WAY worse though. If they ever do pass these ultra restrictive gun laws, it'll be because irresponsible dbags gave them the means to sell it. Not fair that the rest of us who are responsible have to pay.

How do you define an "assault rifle"? That is a made up term. There is no such thing. Even a completely modified AR is just the same as you going hunting. Unless we are talking class III weapons (which one can acquire). Those are highly regulated & the owners give up a lot of their freedoms to own one. They are likely the most responsible gun owners of all! If you have the $12k for a 50cal BMG (they still have to allow you) & deep enough pocket for $5+ per bullets you clearly are doing things right!
@SR5 Limited I think you are a little contradictory in your own stance...

Well I guess the federal government classifies an assault weapon to have two of the following characteristics: bayonet mount, telescoping/collapsible stock, detachable magazine, pistol grip and a couple other things prob length or something? And revolving cylinder shotguns...

I had to Google it myself to confirm. The dictionary defines an "assault rifle" as a automatic weapon.
Nothing a common civilian can walk in & buy. Those are class III weapons that are usually very expensive and again owned by people who lose their rights to own them!

Well it’s rapid-fire not full-auto. The detach mag and telescoping stock defines it as an assault weapon....That’s just basic firearm knowledge..When it comes down to it, people need to vote, and sadly I think most do not...

It doesn’t say full-auto in the definition. It’s an auto loader yes...

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms...should only be for those who have an FFL".....

I also don't mean to start arguments or be inflammatory but the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to our constitution, do not GIVE Americans right's. The rights outlined are inalienable rights. The purpose of these amendments are to LIMIT the government.

To assert that, in order for you to exercise a right, you have obtain government issued licenses, doesn't pass the water test

Thank you @4Runner fun , the video you posted is clearly a violation of the second most important amendment made to our Constitution as it restricts and put bureaucracy between the people and a right some may wish to exercise.

Has the definition changed from the "semi automatic with 2 menacing features" definition?
