    Hi folks,

    I'm an Austin-area-based (Lago Vista) 4Runner (2019 TRD Off-Road Premium) noob and I'm happy to now be part of this community.

    I'm a huge fan of Big Bend National Park and I'm looking forward to being able to visit sites and places there that I wouldn't chance in my old Nissan van. Would appreciate any info from those who spend time there.

    I'm located in Cedar Park. I've been planning a trip to Big Bend for some time.. The plan was to take my wife there on her birthday but all camping sites are booked. My one recommendation if not backcountry camping.. make sure to book as soon as an opening exists.

    Hi there,

    Appreciate it! I've been there many times, but never with a 4x4. The reservation system does back up for months. It's a mixed blessing. Convenient, but there are often a good deal of no-shows, so a lot of sites often go unused. I took my son there for the second time just before Xmas and we did the whole Emory Peak trail: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XVRaFghzgyunT6L18

    Let me know if you end up scheduling a trip there and I'll give you my fave things to see there.
