Howdy from SW Florida

Mitch here again. I have had Toyotas most of my life, from a Corolla to a Tacoma and several RAV4s.
Now I am the happy owner of a 2016 4Runner. We also have a 2015 Honda Pilot, which is very
nice, but we are thinking of getting an older 4Runner to replace it.

I saw a video yesterday about the "best SUVs for ease of maintenance", and the 96-02 years were
explicitly mentioned. Is this something that people on this forum might agree with? I am not
looking to do much beyond basic stuff such as replacing lightbulbs, air cleaners,etc.

Finally, another video mentioned "don't buy a 4Runner with xxxxx engine because of the
well-known head gasket problem". Can anyone briefly explain this and/or point me to something?
