How to dry K&N filter

I put in a K&N air filter years ago. Each time I cleaned the filter, it took quite awhile sitting in the sun for it to dry out before I could re-oil it. Well, I started an oil change yesterday (I’m 70 years old so it takes me a little while longer), and finished it today. However, when I went to clean the filter today, wouldn’t you know, there’s no sunshine out because it’s raining (yes, we do have four seasons here in SoCal: hot season, windy season, fire season, and the rainy week). Anyway, in order to speed up the drying process, I McGyvered a filter drier from a cardboard box that uses my shop vac. Enjoy.

 

Some folks I've talked to here who use the oiled KN filters buy a 2nd one and when they take out the first one they install the 2nd one. When the first one is dry and oiled they put into zip-lock bag for next change. Not sure there is a good way to speed up drying but time.
