Well i know this is a odd ask for everyone
but as i am a member on many forums for watches and such
most things have subtle changes over the years and this is what i hope is not the case
i bought a 01 4runner sport with a damaged roof... super weird damage
and thankfully no holes or anything like that but pushed the entire moon roof down about 6 to 8"
i am hoping with some skill and patience i can raise it all back to where it was
but i am smart enough to know this might be a fools errand too
so i am planning on buying a complete roof assembly from another 4runner if this venture in repair does not work
so my question to you all
are the roofs and rack assembly hole placement thru all the years the same?
i know when i sold these they visually were different from like 96 to 99 i think
chrome bumpers and wheels and such
i honestly never looked at the roofs that closely
i have found a 96ish... was not able to get to the vin yet and roof has the moon roof and rack
i can buy it reasonably for 150 but not sure this will work
it looks like my original one where the moon roof mounts are all damaged
i am 6'4" and i can not even sit in the seat...
any help with this kind of info would so be appreciated
thank u again in advance God Bless

A full roof cut is really REALLY hard to do and almost no one does it. The better result may be to simply delete the sunroof with a sheet of metal over top and a replacement headliner from a donor.

Either way, you'll want to have a body guy look at it and see what he would suggest for repair options. But anything where you cut the A or B pillars is going to be a disaster.

Well thank u for the info and appreciate the response
I guess i should have been more clear...
The actual roof skin and i think one of the braces are pushed down very deeply...
I am looking for a complete Roof Skin...
My idea to delete the sunroof was just a idea
I got my 4runner yesterday and the moonroof works perfectly which is super weird due to the damage
When i can i will take pics ..
i think i will try and porta Power the roof up and see if it could be raised and paintless dent removal damage as i will doing that to the rest of the vehicle...

If by 96ish you mean this 4runner it should be a one to one match as far as i know. I would expect it to be. The pic of the black one you posted is a 2nd gen 1995 4runner and that would not be one to one.
