    2023 4Runner TRD ORP KDSS

Greetings to all Toyota and 4Runner enthusiasts.

I am excited to have a 2023 TRD Off-Road Premium (18K miles) as my new adventure partner. Thanks to all previous posters who made it clear that the 5th Gen 4Runner is better suited to my needs and interests. I was offered the vehicle at a low price, so I am planning to do some light mechanical modifications, as well as preparing it for extended camping trips in all conditions.

I will check the other forums and threads, but if anyone has advice about modifications with a KDSS system, I could use some tips, specifically about running boards, and how the KDSS module may interfere with certain models.

Plans are to do a 1-2" lift, running boards, roof rack system, and perhaps some internal storage/ molle panels or other systems. I want to get an awning, internal sleep set-up, and perhaps some extra lighting around the vehicle.

Please share any tips if you have the time and energy, and I'll be sure to check out the other threads to figure things out on my own.

    Thank you and hello !

Congratulations on your new rig and welcome aboard! You might consider passing on the running boards, instead, get some rock sliders with a top plate and rear kick-out. Four reasons include, helps protect from door dings, an extremely sturdy step, adds an additional jacking point and of course, off-sets the possibility of rocker panel damage due to rock collision.
