I am in the process of ordering a new 2022 TRD ORP. I'm excited! Glad to be here!

Welcome. Considering where you are, I'd recommend ordering up some RSG rock sliders. You can pick them up with no shipping!

    Thanks for the recommendation!

    Found them here: https://rsgmetalworks.com/collections/5th-gen-4runner

I'm also trying to figure out which roof rack to purchase. I was going to get the TRD Pro rack but it's not going to fit in my garage. I need a rack that is low profile and allows me to use a RTT. Any recommendations? I do not want to drill so I'm looking for one that uses the factory bolt mounts. Here's a list of companies I'm researching:

    Prinsu
    Victory 4x4
    Sherpa
    UpTOP Overland
    Front Runner
    Baha
    Southern Style Off-Road
    Gobi
    LFD

    Thoughts?

Gobi is the bees knees of roof racks, but you'll grow old and gray waiting for it to show up, if ever.

Looks like they're located in Aurora right outside of Denver. I wonder if I could order and pick one up.

Prinsu is low profile and was wash install. Mine is on a limited with lift/tires of 3 inches, fits garage with inch and half to spare. Very little noise at high speed.

If they have a walk-in location, it wouldn't hurt to go see.

They do have a small'ish storefront, along with six or so bays. And there are usually a bunch of built Runners on the lot to check out.

Hello, I'm thinking about the RSG Rock sliders. Do you have a pair? If so, do you have the smooth or the "shark teeth" version? What are your thoughts?

I just turned down a new Lime Rush TRD Pro... I negotiated a great price, but when I traveled out there I found that Toyota pimped it out with an insufferably loud exhaust. The 2019s didn't have that. I couldn't get over that and the vibrating hood from the fake scoop. So, I just went back to the SR5 Premium; a much better fit for me. The only things I wish I had is a locking differential and climate control.

I like my RSG sliders.its there for protection and works great as a step for my kiddo and doggo. I have HREW one and if you want stronger sliders they have DOM ones as well. Mine are strong enough for hilift jack so I'm happy with it.

I see that everyone is removing the plastic covers, but I called RSG to ask about this. They don't remove them. Thank you; looks easy.

Do you have any regrets, choosing the smooth surface?

My theory is if I keep those taps it will have a gap between the slider and frame and start rust. Again, I could be wrong..

As long as you don't have KDSS its very very easy.

Yes, I have conflicting thoughts about it... all about reducing potential for rust to form.

You can call and check with them about it again and if they say it will not be any rust problems go with their advice. Though I haven't discuss about this rust concern but I have chat with the owner and they are very skilled folks.

I mentioned my concerns about rust. They said that they haven't seen the issue and leave the plugs in, as a buffer. It seems that they would need to be removed periodically to inspect and re-coat anyway (given abuse that they are designed to take), as well as inspecting the welds periodically. I've seen videos of the underside of the 4Runner in New England with rust forming already at only two years old. The welds seem most vulnerable for obvious reasons. I would think that if the coatings stays intact, then that would be the best preventative.
