Hey everybody - been lurking for awhile, but now that my ORP is set to arrive in port tomorrow, figured it's time to join!

Reformed owner of three Jeep Wranglers (TJs) and the ugliest/most gorgeous Defender 110 you ever did see. This'll be my first 4Runner, and I'm excited!

ETA updated to "30 March - 01 April" but dealer told me "available 01 April" then "available first week of April."

I'm hoping this is just a case of "under-promise and over-deliver" - we'll see!

Also had them add on the tires/wheels from the TRD Pro - have a feeling it's gonna be good.

 

Well - ETA is now "02-04 April," so looks like the dealer just had better information earlier than I did.

I guess we wait some more.

 

Toyota over here playing with my emotions - a couple hours later dealerCategory is updated to 'G' with ETA 28-30 March... waiting for the call!

And a couple hours after that it disappears entirely (along with another truck that should have been in the same batch). Feeling pretty good!

Over here in New Haven county, waiting on my ORP KDSS. What dealership did you use and did they charge below/at/over msrp?

Lucky! Had no success down here finding anything with KDSS.

Had a great experience with Greentree Toyota in Danbury. MSRP plus a ceramic coating (wouldn't even discuss either), but being this close to Manhattan, everyone else wanted to put $5k-10k market value adjustment for nothing. Sales rep was also really patient with me and my questions, took the time to explain what was going on.

Wow nice score on the ceramic. Planning that as a first thing when mine comes in. I am getting a little better than msrp due to dealer relationship, but the KDSS is a special order around here as you know, so my build will likely take a few months. What color are you anyway? Still awaiting delivery?

 

Oh, the ceramic wasn't free. Still, the way I plan on using it, it won't be bad to have. Looking into coating the frame with either Fluid Film or WoolWax as soon as I can get it scheduled.

Almost had an Army Green - it was reserved out from under me while I was talking to the rep! No hard feelings though; apparently the new owner had been waiting five months for one in AG. Gotta appreciate the patience.

I got Midnight Black Metallic and added Matte Black Pro wheels. Didn't do the full blackout (logos or exhaust tip), not yet anyway. Still waiting for the call from the dealer!

 

Everyone blacks out. If you ask me its kinda old. I am looking forward to nice shiny chrome emblems! I think it looks good on barcelona red.

 

Update from dealer: arriving today!

Because of life I might not be able to drive it away until Monday; will post pics as soon as I can.

 

Congrats! Yes pics please next week, a lot of us are still waiting and the pics validate delivery is actually happening.

 

While I wait... in the original v-spec and communications my ORP was listed as Midnight Black Metallic - now on the Toyota Owner's website, it's listed as Attitude Black Metallic.

Haven't seen a lot of ABM out there for 2022 - curious to see which I actually wind up with!

Well... it was almost ready to roll out the door yesterday, but two hiccups mean it will either be Wednesday or Friday when I can get up there to pick it up.

I just sit here, imagining her at the dealership all alone, wondering why all her friends got to go home immediately and she's just sitting there in the cold... :'(

Feeling big cursed over here:

First, the bank said they "couldn't read" the documents the dealer sent over (even though I called them and we went over everything on the phone together) and tried to get in touch with the dealer... BY FAX.

So a week later, I get all that sorted, but... the dealer didn't use a required tool when mounting my replacement wheels and tires and scratched all five of them, so now I wait while they order another set of wheels.

Which is really fine, it's a second vehicle and the dealer has been great about communicating. So I figure I'll pick it up today or Friday, then:

I test positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

What the heck? Now it's at least five days, maybe more until I can go get Sally and bring her home. I already have the first mod ready to install and everything (car seat for our son... that counts, right?).

Fate really throwing us a rough hand over here. Just needed to vent. Pics still coming whenever I pick her up.

 

Finally got her! Super happy with the paint color - the blue flecks in the black is really gorgeous in the sun.
