    Hey fellas,

I just bought my wife an '01 SR5 and want to either add a Carplay screen or swap the existing aftermarket head unit with a carplay capable model.

    My question to y'all is:
    - Does any one have experience with Carplay screens? Pros/cons? I'd likely try to rig a Rammount to make it swivel in front of the existing head unit rather than set it on the dash.

    - Any problems with carplay capable head units operating in an older model vehicle?

    - Recommendations on makes/models?

    Welcome to the forum
It would be easier to just get the built in headunit with car play. And being an older model 4runner it'll be easier to install. Check crutchfield.com to get a better idea of exactly which unit you want.
