My 2006 Galactic Gray Sport has some old hail damage on the roof, as well as the very top panel above the drivers side doors. I’ve had everything else fixed with PDR and it looks great, the paint (except for the roof) is in excellent condition, I think most panels have been repainted and they did a great job. Has anyone had the roof done, as I’m assuming the headliner will need to be removed and may do the removal myself , unless it’s crazy involved (I do have a working, non-leaking sunroof). I know that the top paint is not easily seen, but if I can get the dents done I think I can get a decent respray and be happy with it (my dent guy is very good and inexpensive).

Headliner must be removed...its a big, flat surface and PDR makes its fast and easy. I had mine done a couple years ago and I'd never assume anything was ever done now...

Did you remove it, or the shop? Thought I’d save some labor hours by doing it myself, I haven’t done a deep dive on how big a job it would be.

It was insurance so I had them do it. Buying new clips for the re-install is recommended...you will definitely save some dollars doing the removal and re-install! That's the hardest part!

My Sister had hail damage on the roof of her Mazda, body got it out and is barley noticeable. But he used PDR, so not sure why your guy couldn't do the same?

Yes the headliner would need removed to do the PDR, they need access to both sides to effectively fix the dents. I don’t think they could pull them very well just from the top with glue pulls.

Personally i would let them do the whole thing, any issues will be on them if there are any.
