Garage Door opener momentary switch

Bought two of these by mistake. $15 shipped.
Worked perfect in my 2020 trd that didn’t have a a factory garage door opener button. Direction for wiring remote can be easily searched . I Only need one.

 

How do these work? Don’t they need to have some kind of “RF” properties?

 

You can take apart your garage door opener and hide it in the dash.

Does this garage door opener somehow connect to your dashboard computer? What versions can it work with? I've never seen such a button. Can it work when the engine is off, like opening car windows? I want to get one of those as well. I've already looked at a few of these things at this store https://www.garagedoornation.com. However, I still haven't figured out how it works or how it needs to be built into the car. I might be able to short circuit it. Maybe I'll buy this part and contact my electrician friend. Anyway, a thing like this could make my life easier. My car has been having problems with Homelink pairing lately.

 

This is news to me. I've never seen a 4Runner without garage door opener. Can I see a pic of this area on your 2020 TRD please?

I second this. What the heck does it look like there without a garage door opener?

 

The switches may be there but may not work on OPs opener. I have some piece of shit Lift Master openers and they will not program to the 4R. A switch like this wired to the opener would solve that issue.

I mean, I just use the regular old remote, but if you like your buttons stealthy then this may be the best option if the Homelink won't program for you.
