Just bought into this life, been wanting to for a while, but rather than get a 25, I bought a 24. Didnt realize they were doing away with the V6 and that was somewhat unsettling.

Mine is bone stock atm, Silver SR5.

I dont plan on doing anything too challenging with it, but I plan to buy some upgrades. Any advice on where to start?

Looking forward to learning more about this new life Ive chosen.

Well, first thing is, welcome to the forum. I’ll tell you what I did. At 35 miles I took her down to a popular shop in town and had PPF (paint protection film) over the front clip; hood, bumper, fenders, headlights. These are the high impact areas. Then tinted all the glass one step lighter than limo tint, this includes the sun roof glass and the windshield on the inside with a very light tint which helps decrease interior temperature, along with glare. Finally, had the entire vehicle ceramic coated. All the products were made by Xpel. My logic was this, I had spent more money on this vehicle than any other in my life, 70 yrs old, so I wanted it protected from rock chips, sun damage, bird droppings, etc. I can attest it does its job. While driving on the freeway the other day going to Joshua Tree, a semi-truck kicked up a rock which hit the small thin front facing part of the hood and it hit hard. When we arrived I got out to find a good sized hit in the PPF which literally pushed up the film Accordion style, like bellows. I failed to mention this stuff is self healing, meaning you can heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer and let it flow back into shape. I used a hair dryer from the inside of the hood and with a plastic trim tool coaxed it back to sitting flat again. Then while holding down the now flat flap of the clear PPF with the trim tool, I applied a large ice cube to the underside of the hood to cool down the repair. Success, you can barely see the damage and can run your hand over it and feel nothing. The paint wasn’t harmed in any way, but I’m sure they’ll be more as a result of freeway driving.

    Do whatever makes you happy
Tires, wheels, lift, tint, drop, interior upgrades, lights, you name it, you can do it.

Me personally, i like to tint the front windows to match, put on a small lift, and change the tires to something that looks better. These are only visual changes and just make the vehicle look tougher in my opinion. You can do whatever you like though that makes your vehicle more like "you"
