Looking for suggestions on where to mount a fire extinguisher so that it’s handy when needed and doesn’t roll around in the back of the truck when not.

Obviously, MOLLE panels is a solution, but I do not have them (yet) on my rig. Also not a fan of mounting at the base of the driver’s seat as I already have mine in the furthest rearward position and I could use all the room in the footwell I can get.

If it’s not mounted at the base of the front seat it’s not really accessible to you as the driver.
Mines still in the box (doesn’t roll that way ) in the back.

Nice. So, are the jackers needed for using the mount for a small extinguisher?
    A pic would be helpful!

You might be able to get away without the jackers. Mine right now has my CB, mag light, handheld ham, knife or two, and an empty quickfist :D

I have mine mounted on a Wits End seat mount but you don’t want that. Someone posted this on FB but it’s not a Runner.

KO2, RCI Skid and filler plate, Caliraised ditch lights, seat jacker clones, aluminum oil filter housing and fumoto drain.

Fyi, I picked up some seat jacker clones off eBay, I think I got 2 pairs for $30. No reason to spend the 100 per set for originals..

I don't think they're needed. I think he just shows them in pictures and mentions them because they'll work in conjunction.

I've been looking at getting this extinguisher too: https://elementfire.com/collections/allproducts/products/element-e100

Looks impressive. I have an H3R right now.

Mine is velcro strapped between the drivers seat and the door. The strap goes around the rear, inboard, seat bolt. It worked O.K. in Moab.

BTW, has anyone seen a MOLLE extinguisher bag for a panel mount? Looking to mount my 2nd extinguisher on the rear window panels...

Picture from my old truck (a little bit messy), but in my new on I used the same location - just used mount which came with extinguisher and fastened it to the trunk storage area (on the right):

for a space saving Fire extinguisher that Does work very good https://elementfire.com/products/element-e50 and you can mount it just about anywhere you want and not have it in the way or even keep it in the glove box! the picture shows under the seat mount for 4Runner and Tacoma's. You can buy the clips alone from local hardware stores (broom handle clips)

I wrote this article about Element extinguishers a while back. They are excellent in many ways.

    https://trail4runner.com/2020/04/01/element-e50-fire-extinguisher-review/

They are easy to mount in locations close to the driver too - glove compartment and door pocket, for example.

Sweet! It lined up with the holes in the mount that came with my extinguisher.

Left side bag is all back road stranded/EMERGENCY food, water, 1st aid, fire starting, cordage, shelter, stove water filters. Type stuff

Assuming you were talking about my 2 bags haha

Right side bag is car emergency. Tools, tow strap, zip ties, gorilla tape, small shovel, extra oil etc

May have to take them all apart and take pics...
