What kind of undercoating does Toyota install on 2018 4Runner?

    Paint and that's it.

A lot of dealerships like to use this for add on. Some of the ones I've seen use some kind of spray on coating. They put the car on the lift, spray it on, and add the $500 markup or whatever it is. Probably a good money maker for them.

Depending on the dealership the paint might extra charge. I am sure they put lots of wax on

It was meant to be sarcastic remark as dealers make up ridiculous charges during these times to make a few extra bucks.

Welcome from Wisconsin! From the factory probably none. When we bought our 4Runner we had the dealership put a undercoating/rust preventative on it. They wanted $400 for it and included (as long as we own it) free yearly inspection and touchup if needed. When we bought a Tacoma previously, we had them do the same thing, and after 3 years of winter driving with salt, the frame and components like crossmembers showed 0 rust. Ya I know, we 'fell for it' with the $400 add-on, I believe it helped get the trade in we wanted when we got rid of the Tacoma.
