I own a 2004 4 Runner with 236,000 miles. It has been maintained very well. My problem is that the other night I went to the store and back and parked it. The next day I went to start it and all the lights radio PW's work , and can also hear something under the hood being run for several seconds 12.4 volts on a 1 year old Die Hard battery. I had someone turn the engine over with the brake depressed and had 0 voltage at the starter solenoid wire. All regular fuses and fusible links are good. In the power distribution box under the hood there is a space for a IG relay that you can tell has never been used. Attached to the side of the Fuse box is another small box with 2 brown relays in it that are not labeled under the cover and are held in there so tight I can't get them out. Any Idea what these 2 are? I'm thinking possibly Ignition and Starter relays. I'm thinking one of those or the ignition switch. Also, IT will not crank over in neutral. Any help would be very much appreciated. I hope I am posting this in the right place as I'm new to your Forum.

Welcome to the forum from North Carolina.

Do you have another key you could try? On my 2007, I had a transponder chip fail and it exhibited as similar situation.

I am sure others will add some additional possible scenarios.
