Electric Jeep fire at Google HQ

“A Jeep Wrangler EV parked at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View burst into flames Thursday before spreading to three other nearby vehicles, according to the Mountain View Fire Department.”

The fire at the charging station destroyed the Jeep EV along with two Teslas and a Honda.

Damages estimated at $275,000.

Overall likelihood of fire? I wouldn't be surprised to hear it's Stellantis engineering at work. (especially since lithium-ion batteries are everywhere)

Once a fire starts? Then it becomes a big-lithium-ion-battery problem.

 

Well Chrysler did kill off the electric Charger due to low sales. My aunt works for a auto group that's Dodge and she heard them fire up the electric one. She said it sounds nice, but it's been on the showroom for a while now.

 

Rented a dodge hornet hybrid recently. Although it hasn’t spontaneously bursted into flame, I’m not a fan.

The wife is not impressed either. Not surprised that it’s one of the worst selling cars in the US…
