I drive a 5th gen but Daughter and son in law bought a green trail hunter in Chicago and drove it back to Texas. Snappy acceleration and lots of fun. My wife has a newer RX and the engine sound was similar. Personally not a fan of the 4 cyl but if it proves as reliable as my 5th gen, I might consider one later in life. But for what they paid I could just get a Lexus or Grenadier for little bit more.

I can make a long list of what I like about my Gen5, but fun to drive doesn’t make the cut. The new one is a revelation in that category and it will prove to be reliable.

I can respect that. I went from a 2001 Tacoma TRD 4x4 crew cab to
a 2016 brand new 4Runner Pro so I get easily impressed! I am still trying to figure out my wife’s RX. I like things very simple. My 4Runner is fun IMHO. The throttle controller I installed 8 yrs ago helped immensely.
