I keep the windows down when my '18 SR5P is in the garage. Occasionally the doors will lock 'cause the key fob was "somehow" activated while in my pocket. After a few minutes, if I try to unlock with the electric switch on the door panel, it does not work. If I unlock manually, using the button(?) next to the open-the-door latch, the alarm goes off. Then I have get the fob to kill the alarm. The owners manual is no help reprogramming this particular issue.

The door-panel switch and the button work fine immediately after locking with the key fob. It's after a few minutes that I need to fetch the key fob, or the electric switch won't operate, and if I use the manual button the alarm goes off.

Any one have a program solution so that both door lock switches will operate after the doors are locked with the fob? I am trying to avoid a Carista, but will get one if needed.

The SR5 does not have a smart key.

Is it the OEM fob? It almost sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm on that truck.

Everything seems to be working as designed. When you arm the system any time you unlock from the inside button or open a door it will set off the alarm. That’s deliberate, a thief would take a coat hanger and flip that button, you’d want the alarm to go off.

Carista will do a lot but will not customize this feature.

Pretty normal stuff as mentioned. The only thing you can turn off is auto lock after unlocking but no door is opened.

I hadn't thought of the anti theft angle, but it makes sense. It is a little annoying when I need to get into the truck and the door is locked, with the window down, and I have fetch the keys. A minor inconvenience that I will have to live with. Thank you.
