Anybody have issues with their door lock actuators failing? I'm talking about the actual mechanism that opens, locks and unlocks the door in the doors.

I just had both mine fail within two months of each other after 4ish years of ownership.

Toyota wanted around $400 for parts and labor for each door. I found the parts on Amazon for 30 bucks each and did it myself in about an hour.

I think this is pretty common for 5th Gens based on what I’ve googled. I did find a video on YouTube and am planning on doing my driver side which I recently found out is not working. Glad to hear you found it easy to replace.

Crazy such a random part fails so often, especially since I imagine its a parts bin part shared across the Toyota line up.

Anyway yes it was super easy. Just have your new and old actuator sitting in front of you as you swap the parts over and its an easy day.
