    Hey All,

I'm negotiating a deal on a new weekend camping/offroader vehicle. I got them down to 7k for this:

    2004 Toyota 4 Runner, V8 Limited 4WD
    - New serpentine belt installed 2 years ago.
    - New braking and suspension systems 1 year ago.
    - New tires

I had them take frame pictures, seems fine to me: https://imgur.com/a/QUh4C1H

Here are the general photos of the interior/exterior: https://imgur.com/a/Ybze0uV

I pulled the carfax history and oil changes are mostly kept up with, there are some gaps 15 years ago I'm assuming were done unreported or DIY.
Looks like they changed front/rear Diff fluids, steering, transfer case, and transmission fluids 2~ ish years & 20k miles ago.

Big negative (other than the miles) is timing belt hasn't been changed (and I didn't see anything on carfax about it either) which seems insane to me at 280k (Maybe changed at a place that listed it under 'general maintenance' or otherwise unreported? No way it has lasted this long), so i had them lower the price to 7k from 8k to account for that.

They also mentioned the sunroof is finicky and sometimes doesn't close, not sure how fixable that is.

Is this a decent deal or should I keep looking?

    Thanks!

I personally wouldn’t spend that much money on any vehicle that is 21 years old and has almost 300K miles.

If that's within your budget. Go for it.
    For me that's too high.
Could get a nice 2012 - 2015 Camry with decent miles for that
