Anyone put a USB port in the extra blank on the upper portion of the dash next to the dimmer dial? I think it's where the memory seat buttons are on a limited? Not sure but it's blank on my '08 sport and it would be perfect to put a USB in it. I don't have any more room in the switch locations on the lower portion of the dash.

Me too. It seems like it's better there. I got a short, (2 ft) lightening cord to go to my phone and it stays out of the way.

Someone stole the CD player out of a pickup my parents own. I replaced the dash, cd player and put in a USB charger to replace the cigarette lighter. I used the existing wiring so it is wired to constant power. It's a 2.1 amp 5v charger. Should I be worried about it draining the battery at all? Sorry if it's a dumb question. Electrical stuff is not my strong point.

I wouldn't think so. Even if a phone was hooked to it and charging I expect it would take a while to drain the battery, assuming the battery is in good condition. I had one in a Wrangler that had a little blue LED on it. The LED stayed on 24/7 and I only drove the Jeep on the weekend and it held up fine.

How'd this go? I have room on the center console down by the gear selector but I mount my inReach on a RAM mount attached to one of the A pillar grab handle bolts and having a port over there would be perfect for it.
