Finally got wireless android going. What a pain in the ass. I can't even remember what I did to make it work but the final thing was rebooting my phone for the 20th time. Hopefully it keeps the connection going forward.

Installed the max11 and it’s working nicely. Takes a few seconds to load android on startup but everything works fine so far. I think the only difference between max and vivid is the user interface…
After some time with it it mostly works fine, but at times CarPlay will randomly stop and then reconnect. It’s not often but it’s annoying when it happens. Also the phone doesn’t recognize the head unit mic for phone calls. I’ll have to look into that.

Has anyone experienced black screen? The side buttons light up but the main screen is black... if direct sunlight is hitting I barley make out whats on the screen. Installed this one in my 2014 Limited 4Runner, worked fine yesterday but today black screen of death. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088ZT88TS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

There seems to be a lot of issues with these Chinese radios everywhere, other forums and Facebook groups. I’m debating getting one, I’m after the oem look but do t know if I want the headache of troubleshooting so often.

The screen looks great, when it works. Which FB group did you look at? It's been a pain in the ass troubleshooting so far. No luck w the black screen yet either...

Hey all, and thanks for the many great write ups on this head unit. I apologize if I missed it, but I didn’t see any mention of using this H/U with the OEM Audio Plus systems. I have read that the CarTrimHome CTH versions are a direct plug and play with the OEM Audio kit, but what about this one? I’m wanting to upgrade my 2017 to one of these but still torn between the two. Thanks

I am lazy to read thru 11 pages. Does this work on 2021+ models?

False, it does. Some slight sanding around the hazard switch is required. At least for ‘21MY.

Okay. I was going off the manufacture description, which only goes to 2019

I can only speak intelligently about the unit I purchased which is the Android 10 max unit. I installed it in my MY ‘21 with only modifying the hazard switch opening, yes.

I'm hoping someone trolling this post with VERY GOOD Android skills can help me with mine. It's not yet installed but I've been told by my technical-challenged neighbor that she couldn't get the CarPlay functionality to work in hers without updating the firmware which she had no idea how to do.

If you're adept at these units and Android programming, I'm going to need some help! Shoot me a DM please.
