Had an intermittent misfire in cylinder 6, tried a lot of different fixes nothing worked. I took the head off and this is what I found (picture attached). Two exhaust valves white, one dark. Is this a sign of a burnt valve?20170509_180842.jpg

could be a sign of low compression. Did you do a compression test before tearing the engine down? burnt valve is really easy to spot, will look like someone literally burned it with a torch. With the cylinder head in that position it's easy to check if the valve is seated, atleast somewhat correctly. If you pour water, or some sort of solvent in that chamber it should not be leaking out the intake or exhaust ports, if it does you need to have the valves seated, maybe replace if leaking.

It was a bent exhaust valve. Had both the heads cleaned/resurfaced and that valve rebuilt. Thanks for the help!

If you don't mind me ask, about how much did that run you? I might be in your same situation.

A small shop around resurfaced, rebuilt the valve, and shimmed for $200.
