If you decide to relocate the trailer connector from under the carriage to under the rear bumper, the Curt USCAR Wiring Extension Harness, part number 56475, is plug and play to extend the factory trailer connection an additional 20 inches. It and the Amazon relocation bracket is all you need.

Seems a bit of overkill, seeing as you only need about 6", if that, to reach the relocation bracket. What do you do with the other 14"?

It depends on where you located the extension bracket. I needed about 12 inches to not have a strain on it. I have a small loop of the excess tied up.

just out of curiosity, why do you need to relocate it?

I didn't like to get down in the mud to connect my trailer
