Hey guys, sorry if this has already been posted, I couldn’t find it.

My 2018 T4R has started making a creaking and clunking sound whenever the front suspension has to absorb a bump in the road or going over a speed bump. It sounds awful.
It’s a highway warrior currently so it’s not from tearing something up on the trails.
It has gotten progressively worse over the last couple of weeks.
Anyone else experience this and now what’s causing it?

I have an appointment at the stealer Monday but am fully expecting the everything is normal treatment.

How many miles on the suspension?

Theres alot under there. But Id start with the sway bar bushings. Possibly the upper control arm. Its a young vehicle to have said noise.

Hopefully dealership helps. If not, take tech for a short ride to show them the noise. Often it is very loud in the shop and they wont hear it.

not gonna be control arm bushings on a new runner unless the vehicle was lifted and other mods on the suspension.

so when did you grease the drive shaft yoke and U joints ? if NO then grease them .. see what happens clunks are very common when the tokes not lubed. I grease my runner every 7K oil change.

free toyota servicing does not grease drive shafts etc...

Toyota slacks on the suspension. I'm at 30k now and every bump is felt and pounds the vehicle. I mentioned it before but I have not owned a Toyota 4x4 that I did not have to replace the suspension by around 30k. Just horrible. Hope you figure the noise out, let us know what it is.

Not yet, I had an appointment at the stealer scheduled for this past Monday but couldn’t get away from work to get it there.
It’s about to drive me insane so I will probably just take a vacation day soon and take it in.

@golfguy sweet man. Love it here. Great weather, lots of breweries, no rust, plenty of 4runners around.

I had body mounts on my taco that made a racket that drove me crazy. Check those bushings. I had to fish a bolt out of my skid plate and out of the corner of my eye I saw they really easy to visually inspect. Just a thought, good luck in your hunt!

Well I’m stumped, it has stopped making the noise. So now I’m just gonna wait and see if it comes back.
