Crazy to buy one with 220k miles?

4runner pulls up. 4 guys bail out.
One goes under on a creeper and starts poking stuff with a screwdriver.
One hops in and starts playing with every electronic geegaw there is.
One goes under hood and starts tracing wires and hoses.
And one walks around with a tablet checking things off as good or bad as the guys call them out and looking up specs when there's a question.
And the salesperson stands there with a WTF look on their face.

 

ROAD TRIP!!!! and we bring floor jacks, power tools, scanners, etc.

 

And when we're done in Ohio we can run up to NY and visit Ralph and go over that sweet Shitbath "1 of 9 in the country" 6th gen with a fine tooth comb.

 

I will truly know it has a lot of miles for the price.

If the same truck was modded out the same way, yet had half the miles, I would say go for it. This truck is at the end of it's life and will need all sorts of repairs soon.

 

Are people actually paying these crazy asking prices for vehicles with 200K miles? It seems like a huge risk and bad financial decision. Spend more money on something with much lower mileage that is going to last 4 times as long.
