Borrowing a photo from a FS ad currently running:

Would a 1" Cornfed spacer go on top of the front coil top hat in the linked photo? If so, wouldn't the three top studs then be too short? Just trying to understand how front spacers work...it'd be nice to see a photo of an uninstalled front coil setup with a spacer on it, but not installed yet on the 4R.

I know all about coil spacers on Jeeps, but 4R suspension has me scratching my head...

This is with the Cornfed spacer already added on the front shocks. It’s on the top and bottom of the shock.

When talking about IFS, a 1/2" spacer up front provides 1" lift. Yes, the 1/2" thick spacer goes on top of the top hat. The spacers work fine with the OEM studs.

Spacers were around long before 1998 They first came out for Jeeps in the early 90s. My dad bought a new 93 Grand Cherokee, coil spring front and rear. He saw 2" spacers advertised for the front of the 86+ Cherokee, they are coil front, leaf rear. He called and asked if they worked on the rear of a Grand Cherokee but the company was unsure. He ordered 2 sets and figured he had nothing to lose. He had them in there until 2005 when he sold it. But yes David and his wife started Cornfed in the late 90s.
