Coils springs and spacers

    So quick question. I’m gettin my 18 TRD/OP lifted next week. And I’m putting 285’s on it along with some 5100’s. This is my first lift but I plan on making this an over landing vehicle. And for sure adding a lot of weight. The guy doing my lift was originally gonna put spacers in the back until I opted for just coils. He said unless I put weight on it immediately it’s gonna be at full flex and feel stiff. Is there not away i could accomplish it being just an inch or so high and not at full flex with coils vs spacers? Also if anyone has an recommendations for the best springs and coils for this particular lift that would give a 2.5 lift in the front and it leveled in the back? Thanks!

    Spacers in the rear are gonna stiffen it up too.

    Eibach makes an adjustable rear spring for the 4 Runner in 3 different load grades, which might be a good option. I’m thinking about it myself.

    Thanks Snickel Fritz good to know. They’re a new product and this is Canada so I’m not in a hurry, haha. I’m waiting for your review of them!

    Let me know how the install goes. I put mine on today and sales dudes told a fib. They said you can adjust on the rig just jack up the rear and spin away. Its not awful hard but not easy as jack it up. gotta drop the link and shock.
    Anyway I bought the 1" springs a month ago and they gave 1.75" and have not settled in ~700 miles. These are advertised 0-2" lift and I set them at 3/4" (based on 1.5" should be 2" according to directions) and got 1.8"
    Oh, download the install app from the web site. printed copy is hard to read

    Not too sure I understand, ForRun, - so you got a little less than the 2” you adjusted for? Are these the medium load springs? Yeah, and I thought the adjustment could be made by simply jacking up as well. But still, having adjustability is an advantage. I think I will probably need the medium load ones.
    I like level, but the problem with it, is that when you load it up its low in the back unless you have a heavier spring than stock.

    I have the 0-2" with the light springs. With the adjuster set at what should be the 1" mark put me at 1.8". Just guessing I could probably get 4" or more the way they sent it? Perhaps they sent the wrong spring. They did send 2 sets of all the hardware by mistake.
    In the end I'll be happy, they ride great, just when I tow up north it won't be a 10 minute job to adjust, closer to an hour. Perhaps on a lift will go quick

    So, I’ve forgotten, ForRun, what do you have on the front. Are you level? So, the light Eibachs are firmer than the stock springs? That was our discussion earlier.

    I'm going to start a thread about these springs soon. I just adjusted these all the way to zero and have 1 3/8" lift.. close enough to an inch I was aiming for but far from "0" they advertise. they may settle but I ran the eibach pro springs (that are rated 1") for ~700 miles and they dropped none and gave me 1.5". need to give these the benefit of doubt that they may settle but right now I'm alittle pissed. I spent 500 to lower an 1/8" compared to eibach pro springs.
    You can adjust with a spring compressor...20 bucks at Napa...but, they ended up mashing up the upper adjustable threads. Maybe that's why they double shipped. Anyway it's easier and quicker to drop the link and shock vs spring compressor.

    Hey ForRun, looking again at the photo, did you try installing them without the adjustment ring? Also, wondering why two rings? When you look at the spec sheet, it shows the measurement taken from the bottom of the spring seat. Maybe if your spring was resting on the seat it would give the calibration that Eibach claims. Actually the seat itself just looks like a spacer. The reason I’m interested in all of this is that I don’t want too much lift. I’m looking for 1 1/2” - 2” in front and just enough in the rear for 1/2” of rake. Maybe that’s too demanding a spec, but just enough to basically account for winch and bumpers. Maybe a simple spacer is all I need.
