Change your wipers for cheap

I use to buy the Toyota replacement inserts but looks like they upped the price to around $15/ea.

Just ordered these. Cut to size. Easy to do and they work great.

Thats what i do, cause they are $26-$30 each and the 4R has different length right and left and its hard to remember what is what.
Why did they have to make it so difficult

 

Just quickly checked one of my old bills. It's was just over $16 for both.
Dang now each is $15? That socks.


If the new product you found fits perfectly to existing wiper holder and wipes well, to my eyes that's a win. I'm lazy, will continue to buy the rubber inserts to Toyota parts store.

I just had a look over at BAM Wholesale... 85214-06140 (left) and 85214-06130 (right) are $7.35 each.

 

Neat.

But it's not OEM, exact fit from the dealer so I just know it's going to be as bad as putting 5W-30 in.

Just paid 8.65 ea from a So Cal dealer a few weeks ago. Didn't shop around so I paid a buck too much it appears.

I appreciate when members post ways to save money.
I will consider using if they are no compromise fit like OEM and quality like OEM.

 

I considered cut-to-size inserts, but they don’t have the little retaining divots molded into the rubber; which securely locks them to the frames. Drive through a long heavy rainstorm with wipers on high, and I’d worry about aftermarket inserts eventually sliding right out. Maybe they wouldn’t, but I’d rather not find out in a heavy rainstorm.

 

Nice find! I don't remember how much my Toyota inserts were. But I do know if you talk nicely to parts counter people they usually help you out on pricing. Not that it makes a large difference, but it has saved me a lot over the last three years.
