So in a weeks time my new 2020 is going into the dealership to get the paint protection (teflon) treatment applied. In the meantime I got to thinking if it would be a good idea or counterproductive if i applied a ceramic coat on the vehicle beforehand? Any detailing gurus out there that could help me

I would think it wouldn’t hurt. Just received my Adam’s polish, Graphene. Gonna try and treat my failing clearcoat. This stuff is caustic. First thing I did was sniff it and I think it burned nose hairs.......
    Here goes nothin....

I don't have an answer for you, but it could be a futile effort. They might have to strip everything before they apply the teflon.

My only bit of advise is to try not to fall for all the marketing hype around all these products.

All you're really looking for in a top coat is whatever is the slickest (so things run off easiest) and you want it to last for a while.

You hear about products that last 2-7 years (or whatever). I'd be very skeptical of those claims.

This Graphene is like a hard polish versus a soft wax job.... I’m experimenting with the trim moldings cleans them up very well. May do the tires...

Cleaned my VIN etched windows great. Also rejuvenated the failing clear coat a little. Not as good as a repaint but I like it.. CBF82B08-48AB-4F62-83BA-71C065AC18B6.jpg I didn’t even wash it first..... 4 hours to full cure.

I think you should wait until after the paint protection is applied. As someone above already stated, they may strip everything before they do what they do. However, the same can be said about applying the ceramic. Maybe you won't even need the ceramic coating after they apply the teflon?
