I just got my 4Runner, a e-vehicle was never a option for me since I don’t believe that e-mobility is the answer.

When I came from my tundra earlier this year I really looked at getting a Tesla. I also looked at corvettes lol.

practicality took over and I got the 4runner.

I will most likely go back to a Tacoma when my kids are older and driving themselves. I love trucks, but the space in the 4Runner is great for my family now. Of course, when the 4Runner is updated, who knows...

It was between a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited and the 4Runner.... I'm very pleased with my decision. Wont be needing a another one for 8-10 yrs

As long as I'm living in Colorado, I will have a Toyota truck powered by dead dinosaurs. No electrics for me, please. I just bought my 4Runner a few months ago after owning an FJ for ten years.

I currently own an 2016 4Runner TEP, and a 2018 XLT F150. Adding stuff to 4Runner, selling F150. Ecoboost was fun (like....really fun), but everything else is just kinda Meh. Meanwhile, 4Runner still our adventure vehicle.

So I ordered a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro. Should be in after a few months, and then we'll just have 2 4Runners.

Most people are looking forward to a redesign, but after owning a 3rd Gen Tacoma...I'm scared they will put that powertrain into the 4Runners, so we are getting our second one now, before they change it. Sure...MPG isn't the best, it doesn't have a turbo, but after 50,000 miles, 4 years, and some pretty gnarly adventures...it's solid. No rattles, no hesitation to just go with it.

Plus, even after 4 years, I still look back over my shoulder in the parking lot at it.

I used to joke I should just buy 2 4Runners and be done with it. Not joking now.

I want to put another T4R in cement color into "safe storage" & take it out when ours goes bad in 15-20 yrs. I know it doesn't work like that.
    I don't want Tesla technology in a T4R.
Let the dinosaurs live, roam & be free of the "text & drive package".
Give us a factory supercharger & 6 spd. (Manual & auto) & I think most would be happy!

Hopefully the 4 stays around for many years but the next one will probably be a one ton truck. One ton and done. An no EV for as long as I can help it.

I'd definitely get another 4Runner, but I'll wait for the new one to come out.

I'm hoping a hybrid 4Runner is on the way, which I'm fairly certain they will make. More power and better gas mileage. Sounds good to me :)

I also wouldn't mind picking up a 3rd gen sometime, for nostalgia reasons.

I have a deposit on a new Rivian, but it's going to be a while before they come out. So I bought a 4Runner for the interim. Heck, could probably buy 2.5 4Runners for the price the Rivian will probably go for with the battery capacity I'd prefer.

A year ago I would have said no way! Now? Have to admit, 0-60 in 2 seconds and tow 30k lbs sounds pretty damn cool.

My 4Runner will probably outlive me. I honestly don't care about supercar 0-60 times, or being able to tow a house. If I did, I wouldn't have a Runner. I want capability and reliability for the on and off road driving I do. I'm not convinced that any electric vehicle, real or vaporware, will have that any time soon. And there still a lot of things about electric vehicles as an industry that I don't like. The end products are interesting to see, but there's a lot more to EV's than the vehicles themselves that aren't very appealing, or discussed in much detail in public.

My guess is how profitable these things have to be to produce. I believe the manufacturers have a huge profit margin on these EV's. No way it costs as much to develop and produce an EV as it does an ICE vehicle. An they set the price point very high to cash in on the craze.

I've had the new car itch the past few weeks. I get it this time of year without fail. (For the better part of a decade I got a new car every single year right before my holiday travels.) The truth is, the 4Runner has a lot of capability I don't need, (Never tow, need 4WD maybe twice a year), and something with a cushier interior and better MPG doesn't sound so bad. So far I've not seen anything that makes me seriously consider trading.

In your position, I would look at a Highlander or an RX350. If I wasn't going to be off-roading, I would probably be driving one of these.

There would be some definite advantages to an electric 4runner, but I'm not sold on the current power supply the electric cars are using (batteries).
