New to 4Runners. Vehicle runs great. Change all fluids automatically? What concerns should I have on a low mileage 19 year old vehicle?

27K? I'd have no major concerns but wanting to change every fluid and the tires, and maybe belts. any rust?

Low milage but everything is still 19 years old that's original.

Thanks Dan. No rust but the tires are original. Any recommendations for rubber?

I've been eyeing the BFG KO2's because i'm unoriginal, it really depends on what you plan to do with it. my dad went this some Micheline's on his limited and is absolutely in love with them. I plan on playing in the dirt as well as on road so that led to me wanting the BFG's.

Sounds good. I think I'm the Michelin Man, just a little slimmer.

    Welcome!

Tires will depend on your use.

Michelin definitely makes some nice tires.

What's your intended use for the 4runner?

Just know that the previous owner is 92, bought it new and can't drive any more. Can't imagine there are many 2000's with under 30K.

James, my intended use is mostly for around town driving with occasional trips to Washington state from Idaho. Since it can tow, I have a single axle cargo trailer that it might pull from time to time if I don't want to drive my dually.

Thanks Ryan, looking forward to ownership. I don't want to sell but I wish I didn't have to pay up so much for it. Just couldn't say no with what I was learning about 4Runners and this vehicle truly looks like a new car in and out. Maybe I'll post a couple of pics next week.

Don't forget to have the power steering and brake fluid exchanged out easy to overlook. Coolant also but you probably know that.

Did you get a mechanic to look at it? Sounds like a great truck, but I'd at least look at this:

    1) Replace all fluids, unless you have maintenance history to show these have been replaced on a good timetable
    2) Check all hoses and connections; you're about to put more strain on this thing than it's seen its entire life
    3) If it's 4x4, check to see that it engages

I don't know anything else to look at, but any good mechanic can help you understand what to pay attention to.

    How has it been stored?

Tires, hoses, fluids. Check all that’s rubber, basically.

Always garaged. No cracking on Dunlop tires but it will be on the list before the snow hits. Thanks for your response.

Hi Dan. Am rethinking tires now that my neighbor showed me the BFG KO2's and I wouldn't have to buy any snow tires with those babies. He says they're quiet and I can get 50K with the BFG's

Take a good look at the Goodyear Duratracs.
We have them on all 3 of our vehicle & two are plow trucks.
No noise on any (especially the T4R)20190330_182556.jpg . The others are diesels! What? Lol

Another thought for tires....2019 take offs from a Tacoma or 4runner will bolt right on, I just bought a set of 0 mile TRD wheels with Toyo tires for $600 on CL
