Boafeng GMRS Radio Tutorial

    I stumbled upon this tutorial for the Boafeng UV-5R. The instructions also work for the UV-9G radio that I have. I found this video very helpful. Fwd to 2:45 to skip the intro.

    Does the UV-9G support normal UHF/VHF bands in addition to GMRS? I'm looking to grab a handheld radio to keep in the truck/have for emergencies, but I'm not sure which model (Baofeng or otherwise) to pick... Preferably something with GMRS. Recommendations?

    Edit - did a little research, and it appears that it's RX only on UHF/VHF outside of the GMRS freqs
