Black TRD wheels... but what about tires?

I have a 2017 black TRD Off Road Premium 4Runner and I want to go for the blacked out/murdered out look. I'm going to black out all emblems and valances. I know that I want to do the black TRD rims but I'm trying to decide on which tires I want. I'm looking for something that looks aggressive but are also good for highway driving (low noise, etc.) because most of my time spent is highway.

    Any help would be great!

(I'm pretty new to 4runners too so if you suggest a tire size can you say if I would need a lift or not)

Out here in the PNW I see a lot of Toyo at2 because Les Schwab has such a strong following. My neighbor loves his. The 4Runner PRO comes with the Nitto Terra Grappler AT and there is a new version out now called the g2 I think. I have neither but will likely upgrade soon to one of these options. I’m sure others have more personal experience to share but these are popular options in my area.

I am using stock Duellers with the Black TRD wheels until I get the All Terrains but any AT tires will look nice/aggressive bc of the sidewalls
Nitto's, Toyo, Falken Wildpeaks, Lexani, etc....
Personal pref with the look of the design Bro

I did the same thing to my 2018 SR5 - Black TRD wheels, black emblem overlays, roof rack delete. Got rid of anything shiny. I drive 50 miles a day on highway so I needed relative comfort but wanted more aggressive than highway. I opted for the Firestone Destination A/T. Like most tires, they required a good road force balance by a competent shop. After 6,000 miles, they are wearing well, they are pretty quiet and smooth, and have good road feel and steering response. They are not super aggressive looking, but better than highway tire.

Continental has a TerrainContact A/T that seems more street oriented. I have no personal experience but Tire Rack gave good reviews.

They are very quiet IMO. Great in all weather

I really don't get the blacked out thing. Even iconic black cars like Buick Grand Nationals had some bright details to provide contrast. When everything is black the contrast is gone and the whole thing ends up looking like a featureless blob.

I think it depends on the vehicle and color. The 4runner is a rugged off-road capable vehicle and the blacked out thing kind of plays into that IMO. That said, I probably wouldn't do the blacked out thing if it was painted black, because I agree with you that there is no contrast then.....

But, we all like different things.

Give it a few years and then the trend will be something else.

I plan to start the next trend with an all chrome 4Runner.

I’ve been happy with the KO2 all terrain. I thought they would be loud but way smooth and wear great
