Hello everyone I am new to the forum, I am trying to help a friend with a 95' 4 Runner. He took it to a shop where that changed the injectors and a few odds and ends things but sence he got it back it just dumps massive amounts of fuel in to the motor on start off (cold). I had looked at it a bit tested the intake injector for operation found that it works, thought about it for a bit, had another look and found that a 2 wire temp sensor one wire was off and the other wire was attached by one wire strand, repaired the plug to harness. Started it up again things seemed to run fine no black smoke from the tail pipe then once it warmed up then the issue started up again. Tested it with a gas analizer and the hydrocarbons were in excess of 3,600. Has any one had this issue before? The motor is stock, no performance parts except for a pipe from the air flow sensor to the intake. Thank you for the help.

Black smoke. Catalytic converter is spewing carbon not burning it off... that will mess with your sensors and exhaust.. new cat will may fix it..
